Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in urban women. We are one of the Best Breast Cancer Centers in Madurai covering the entire South Tamilnadu. All breast lumps are not cancerous. Only 10% of the breast lumps are found to be cancerous. Hence it is very important to differentiate cancerous lumps from non-cancerous lumps for treatment purposes and to avoid unnecessary anxiety. For that, early detection of the breast lump is important. It can be done in our exclusive Breast Clinic with an examination of the breast, mammogram and FNAC which is done in our centre under one roof and reports are given within 2 hours. That is the special feature of the Breast Clinic of our Hospital.

Even if you are diagnosed with breast cancer, cure is possible without removal of the breast if you come early and treated properly. Breast conservative surgeries and Oncoplastic surgeries are the specialities of our hospital and ours is the flagship hospital for the same. We have got the ultra-modern linear accelerator for radiation of the breast cancer patients and chemotherapy with minimal side effects. Cancer Detection

Our hospital is equipped with state of art mammogram to detect early breast cancer. We also have ultrasound and endoscope facilities. We are pioneers in file needle and trucut biopsy in this part of the world. And our Chairman Dr. B.K.C Mohan Prasad popularized these techniques in the entire south Tamilnadu. Cancer is detectable within minutes using fine needle and trucut biopsy

Chemotherapy

Our hospital is equipped with a specialized chemotherapy team with nurses trained in the administration of chemotherapeutic agents for the past 30 years. The unique feature of our chemotherapy system is giving the right drug in the right dosage to the right patient. The Chemotherapy is administered in a separate Air-conditioned Day Care HEPA Room using infusion pumps and syringe pumps under the care of well-trained chemo nurses supervised by the Medical Officer.

Radiotherapy

Our hospital is equipped with Ultra Modern Linear Accelerator Unit with facilities for conventional radiation, IMRT, IGRT – Radiation is given by qualified technicians supervised by qualified Radiation Oncologist under the guidance of the Lady Professor of Radiotherapy who got trained in Cancer Institute (WIA) Adyar, having special expertise in IMRT, IGRT and brachytherapy techniques.

Hormonetherapy

Hormone Therapy has limited use in cancer treatment since only a small minority of tumours are hormone sensitive e.g. breast and prostate cancer. This therapy provides systemic means of treatment, i.e. to the whole body, but without the side effects of chemotherapy. The hormone therapy is delivered in a very patient friendly way in our hospital.

Targeted Therapy

All types of Targeted therapy for various cancers are given here after proper gene sequencing and immunohisto chemistry studies.

Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy is a form of treatment which stimulates the body’s immune system to destroy cancer cells. It is expensive, and useful only in a few tumours such as melanomas (type of skin cancer) and renal cancers.
